Episode 8 – Williamstown

Series 1 Episode 8 – Williamstown

Welcome to the eight episode of Plein Air Painting TV. This week we are in one of Melbourne’s favourite bayside suburbs of Williamstown. It was a bit of an overcast day to be painting in but overall happy with the result. I paint the old boatshed looking towards the Westgate Bridge.

Sue shares some of the history of Williamstown, finds a local farmers market and uncovers a relic of the past.

I paint an old miners cottage in the trees and become a horse whisperer. Sue just happened to bump into two ladies, one of whom grew up in the miners cottage as a child. She also explores what is left of the town.

Tonights Episode – Botanical Gardens Melbourne

Tonights episode of Plein Air Painting TV is filmed in the Botanical Gardens in Melbourne.
As you can see from the photo above it was a beautiful sunny afternoon and I painted the
old house in the gardens. A lot of different shades of green in this one.

Sue shows us around the Botanical Gardens and shares some of the history with us. Later she goes for a run around the TAN track.

You can watch this episode on C31 Tuesday 10th January at 6:30pm in Melbourne & Geelong.

Tonights Episode Point Lonsdale Lighthouse

Tonights episode of Plein Air Painting TV is at Point Lonsdale Lighthouse. This is an iconic location for artists and over the years thousands of artists have ventured down to the lighthouse to paint it. It was another challenging episode to film due to constant light changes, brewing storms and rising winds.

Sue looks into the history of the lighthouse and surrounding area and reveals the origins of the saying 'You've got two chances … buckleys and none'

You can view the episode tonight on C31 in Melbourne & Geelong. For those not in the broadcast area the episode will be available on this site from tommorrow for  a week.

Point Lonsdale Lighthouse was one of my fathers favourite locations to come and paint. Sadly he passed away in March of this year. This episode is dedicated to him.

Tonights Episode – Yarra River Melbourne

Tonights episode of Plein Air Painting TV features Melbourne's Yarra River.  This was a great place to paint … perfect sunny morning and conditions. There was a lot happening along the river as you will hear in the show. I paint the Melbourne skyline while Sue shows us around the river and local areas.
